Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is the biggest event in the comic book industry—a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops! Founded on the belief that for every person out there, there’s a comic book they’ll love, the annual event offers a huge selection of free titles designed to appeal to a broad range of age levels and their tastes.

“May the 4th be with you.” According to Star Wars.com what started as a pun warmly shared by fans has become a full-fledged Star Wars holiday: Star Wars Day, a special once-a-year celebration of the galaxy far, far away. Once the Internet allowed Star Wars fans around the world to connect with one another, May the 4th soon became a grassroots tradition each year, with fans online and offline proclaiming it “Star Wars Day.”

Put on your Star Wars shirt, or get out your Slave Leia costume, and come into the store. We want to see you celebrating the force-iest of days. Anyone in Star Wars apparel gets a discount at the register. There will be crafts for the kids, and Star Wars trivia throughout the day. See if you can’t top the best time in our Star Wars Lego Build-Off Challenge. And become a Jedi! We will have Jedi caricature artist, Russ Kazmeirczak here from 6-8. Make sure you find time to come over to the Bookmans galaxy (we’re not a galaxy far away).

Her books are full of adventure and encourage little ones to preserve our trails, water, soil and trees.
