Join us for a superhero-themed event to kick off the fall season of Ready, Set, Rec! on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m.-Noon at Gene C. Reid Park (SW corner of the park near Country Club and 22nd Street).

We'll have all six Ready, Set, Rec! vans at the park with activities, a jumping castle, music, info booths, a superhero costume contest, food trucks and raffle prizes.

Children and youth ages 5-17 will get together for a friendly Lego building competition. Participants will be divided into age groups: 5-8, 9-12 and 13-17 to build their own Lego creations according to the month's theme.

This is a free, drop-in event. Membership and registration not required.  

Times for each group are:

Little Builders (ages 5-8): Noon-1 p.m.

Apprentice Builders (ages 9-12): 1:15-2:15 p.m.

Young Master Builders (ages 13-17): 2:30-3:30 p.m.
