Description: The city has partnered with the Mayo Clinic and a nonprofit local group, Change The Lead, to host a free community Juneteenth Celebration. Enjoy a variety of activities, including a kids’ corner, raffle giveaway, live entertainment, educational information, vendors and more. Juneteenth commemorates the abolition of slavery – more specifically the emancipation of enslaved people in Texas, who did not receive the news until two years after abolition.
