Let your students explore the wonders of Ted DeGrazia's 10-acre property, located in the foothills of the gorgeous Santa Catalina Mountains. They will be shown the artist's original adobe home, chapel, courtyards and gallery. Topics discussed in the tour include the life, history and philosophy of DeGrazia, as well as art mediums and techniques, Native American legends and ceremonies, Arizona's history, desert flora and fauna, and the recycling of objects to create art. There is a maximum of 35 children per daily program (there are some exceptions). Groups of any age, or mental/behavioral range are encouraged to attend this free Educational Program. Groups will also be able to create their own art: making dream catchers, pop cap necklaces, recycled 'flowers,' drawings, and coloring. Creativity, and fun, is strongly encouraged! Presentations are also available for groups unable to make it to the gallery, or available to groups that plan to come later for tours. If your group is able to schedule both a presentation and a tour, it enhances the entire experience. Your students will be inspired, and engaged, about art, history, and the desert. All tours and presentations are FREE! To schedule your presentation, call 299-9191.
