Sun Tran is keeping the celebration rolling! Join us for the second event in our 50thAnniversary series as we thank the Tucson community for five decades of riding together. The celebration will take place on Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Tohono Transit Center (221 East Wetmore Road).

This fun filled morning will include:

  • Music from the Tohono Transit Center Spotify playlist!
  • Fun transit themed prizes
  • Refreshing cool water and soft drinks
  • Local community resource booths

As a special surprise, Sun Tran is also randomly placing goodie bags on buses. Lucky riders may find a little something extra for them as a token of appreciation!

And the celebration doesn’t stop there! Sun Tran will host one final 50th Anniversary event at the Ronstadt Transit Center on Friday, September 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Opened in 1994 on Tucson’s northwest side, the Tohono Transit Center was the first transit center built under ADA guidelines, enhancing accessibility for all riders. It is also the third and final transit center to be established in the city, making it a landmark in Tucson’s transit evolution.
