Did you know recycling saves energy and helps create new products? Earth Day is a special time to care for our planet by raising awareness and taking action!

People celebrate by joining clean-ups, planting trees and flowers, and supporting environmental charities. You can help too! Instead of throwing things away, find creative ways to reuse them. Turn an old water bottle into a cup holder by cutting off the top and decorating it. Composting food scraps is another great way to recycle—just bury a wire trash basket in the ground, add scraps, and watch your garden grow!

Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes invites the public to “Two Lights for Tomorrow” on April 18, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride and the enduring spirit of American democracy. This program launches Arizona's observation of the America250 initiative.

“Arizona’s story is America’s story,” said Secretary Fontes. “Democracy survives when people are willing to carry its message forward. Just as lanterns lit the way in 1775, we must be the ones to shine that light today.”
