Join us for a fun-filled afternoon with local children's book author and illustrator Michael Ivery at Barnes & Noble in San Tan Village, Gilbert, Arizona. Michael, a former award-winning DJ and proud Gilbert resident will celebrate his debut children's book, “Tubba and Friends | The Big Music Jamboree!” with a special storytime and book signing on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The dog days of summer are far from over, but many of our students and educators are preparing to head back into the classroom, which means we’re gearing up for our annual Back to School Fest on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

This year’s event will takeover The Hope Center Gym from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with games, food and fun for students of all ages and include free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts and hair styles, shoes and more! This year we’re also excited to announce that we are supporting our educators and collecting supplies for classrooms.

Hey, teens! Are you ready to put your ideas on the page? Our Comic Book Workshop will guide you through the creative process of creating your very own comic book! Learn all of the steps to designing intriguing characters, writing a page-turning plot, and drawing your own storyboard.

This workshop meets on the 3rd Sunday of every month from 3-4 pm at Bookmans Mesa

Kinzie Houston Dickman got into a life changing car crash in 2019, when she was 23 years old. She has had to change her whole way of living her life.

When Dickman was little, she loved the snow and skiing. She learned to ski at the early age of 21 /2 years old. Eventually, she switched from skiing to snowboarding. She shared some of the details about the car crash. According to Dickman, “It was a very traumatic car accident. It took a lot of policemen, firefighters, paramedics, even a helicopter ride to the hospital to keep me alive.”
