Discover all the ways to help make your world a healthier, greener place to live! At Earth Day Festival, our community partners will share hands-on activities and demonstrations to inspire the next generation of climate conscious citizens and stewards of sustainability. Learn about recycling and composting from the experts, the joy of gardening from your local community garden volunteers, and the fun of getting out and enjoying nature with after school programs. Or learn about nature in your backyard with exhibits from local wildlife groups! There will be exhibitors and activities outside the Museum for all ages. Adults with children are welcome inside the courtyard and the Museum for more kid-centric activities. It’s free!

The Earth Day Festival at Children's Museum Tucson is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The event spans 6th Avenue, which will be closed to traffic, with exhibitors on both the Museum grounds and in Armory Park. Admission to the Museum is free all day!

With more than 50 organizations in attendance, there’s something for everyone who’s interested in making the world a better place to live. Learn about recycling and composting, the joy of gardening and the fun of getting out and enjoying nature. Spend some time with awesome animals, from chameleons to capybara! Don’t forget to bring your water bottle – you can fill it up at Tucson Water’s Hydration Station.

Hungry? Pick up a snack from one of the food trucks scheduled to be on 6th Avenue: You Sly Dog, Al Gusto Coffee or Fatboy Sandos.

In the courtyard we’ll be unveiling our new recycled plastic bench and planter that were created as part of the Plastic Waste Diversion Pilot Program with Tucson and ByFusion. ByFusion collects generally non-recyclable plastic items and turns them into building material using pressure and heat. The pilot program ran during 2022 in Tucson and was spearheaded by Ward 6 Councilman Steve Kozachik.
