“This Is Me” is a new book written by Jamie Lee Curtis. It’s about the courage it takes for a family to move their home to another country and it makes kids think about what’s important.
The Disney On Ice show, Worlds of Enchantment, came to Tucson in October. It was very enchanting indeed because it had classics like Cars, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story and more. I had the opportunity to attend a media event to help kick
off the first show! A group of local Tucson elementary kids were there to attend a reading from the book Cars, take pictures and talk to two ice skaters from the show followed by a pizza party. This got the kids so excited and pumped to see the show!

“Renoir—A Coloring Book” contains some of the most beautiful paintings by Renoir, and what’s fun is that you, too, can paint and color in the book yourself.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir started his career painting on porcelain, but when the porcelain factory shut down he decided to become an independent painter. He did not find widespread approval during his lifetime, and he lived a life of poverty. Today he is is considered a master painter. Just get out your favorite paints and away you go to create your own masterpieces.
Want to go on a dream vacation loaded with LEGOs or have tea with your American Girl doll? My family and I went to California in August. We visited Legoland in Carlsbad and the American Girl Store in Los Angeles. I had the time of my life and it was the best summer “vacay” to date.
“Ada Twist, Scientist,” written by Andrea Beatty, is a very clever story. Ada lives with her parents, and everyone is very concerned about Ada because she doesn’t talk. But one day, when she turned 3, she started talking. Mostly she started to ask questions like: Why? Where? Why not? When? How?
Gymnastics World Central on Fort Lowell is offering weekly day camps for kids all summer long. The classes are three hours a day, four days a week.
At the beginning of camp each day, we started by stretching and warming up our bodies. Afterwards we were spit up into two groups. The group I was in did exercises on the bars, floor, rings, trampoline and the tumble track. It was a great work out and loads of fun! The coaches were really nice and showed us new skills. My coaches were Coach Caleb and Coach Jaime.
My family took the Bottle Battle Zume Game to the beach with us this summer. We almost didn’t take it because my parents thought we wouldn’t have room in the car for it. As it turned out, it didn’t take up much space and we were all so happy we’d brought it. The game was lots of fun and we all played many hours on the beach with it. It was easy to set up, but my cousins and I used lighter plastic toys, instead of the bottles. It was easier for us to throw the disc and knock them down. When the adults played, they used the bottles that came with the game, and that worked well for them.
On June 18 at the Tucson Convention Center, the Arizona Coyotes announced their new American Hockey League afflliate will be called the Tucson Roadrunners!
If the Roadrunner name sounds familiar, maybe it’s because the Phoenix Roadrunners were the name of Arizona’s rst professional sports team in 1967.
Are you bored during the summer? Well I have the camp for you! Pima Community College (PCC) has a camp called Pima for kids. They offer half day camps like Little Detectives, Jr. Animation, Cooking, and much more.
