On Christmas 2023, my family went to Sedona, for the first time. When I arrived, I saw enormous, red mountains that looked completely different from the ones in Tucson. My favorite part was visiting a church in a mountain, called the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The church had huge windows and looked like a combination of triangular and rectangular shapes. Inside the church, it felt very peaceful. I noticed a six-foot tall crucifix, some holy water, and biblical paintings.
At Easter, I like munching on a chocolate bunny. Last Easter, I also helped take care of the Earth. It’s almost like I was celebrating Easter and Earth Day at the same time last year.
Since they have vitamins to help plants grow big and strong, I reused the egg shells from eggs that had been cracked open. I did that by breaking the shells into tiny bits to make them into egg shell fertilizer instead of throwing them into the trash. Then I mixed the bits into the soil around my privet plant.

Every year, on March 17, people celebrate the life and legacy of St. Patrick, an Irish saint. There are feasts and parades, dances and parties…but how did this all start? Well, the story of St. Patrick’s Day goes all the way back to the late 4th century.
“Oh! I just got an idea!” Students at Carden of Tucson turn their ideas into inventions. A unique program called Invention Convention challenges students to find ways to change the world. This year’s Invention Convention will be held March 8 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the University of Arizona ENR2.
The Invention Convention started in Connecticut in 1983, and asks students to find problems that need solutions. These solutions become brand new inventions. Educators at Carden of Tucson loved this idea and wanted to bring it to their students.
My family visited a fascinating spot in Phoenix called Arizona Falls. It is the first hydroelectric power generating station in Phoenix. Arizona Falls makes electricity from the power of water falling and spinning a turbine.
Our water comes from melting snow in the mountains, which goes into streams and lakes of the Salt River. Lakes were created from the damns SRP built along the Salt River to prevent flooding. The dams also create energy, and most importantly keep our water supply full.
I love Pokémon! My friends Lindsey and Landen got me interested in Pokémon. My favorite Pokémons are Pikachu and Charizard. I like to read Pokémon books and collect Pokémon things, too.
I got a Poké Ball, and it is really cool. It lights up and changes colors, and it’s sensitive to your hands. The Poké Ball is a replica and a prop. I have it on my dresser in my room. My Papa got it for me for Christmas from Amazon. I wanted it because it is really cool. It’s the size of a baseball, and it is metal. I want more Poké Balls, but they’re around $100.
