In honor of Juneteenth, The Drawing Studio is set to unveil a powerful and historic art expo featuring 100 local Pan-African artists, the first of its kind in Arizona and the only official event in Tucson on Juneteenth. Staged in our second building and curated by acclaimed artist and educator Randiesia Fletcher, M.Ed of Living2Portraits Art Studio, the exhibit features more than 100 original pieces of painting, sculpture, and mixed media from 100 artists across Arizona.

Just as the monsoon season tunes us into the power and beauty of our desert, midsummer is an excellent time to keep kids connected to books. With desert literacy as our focus—learning to ‘read’ the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert—join us for this joyful celebration of reading and writing in so many forms!
