There has been lots of fun in town for those who enjoy basketball. Phoenix Mercury had two Open House events, one in March and another in April. Also, this year Phoenix was the host for the NCAA Men’s Final Four, and April 5–8 there were many fun events. I have been so lucky to participate in a Mercury Open House, to be part of the Men’s Final Four Dribble event presented by Buick, and to go to the Men’s Final Four Fan Fest presented by Capital One.

The Dragon Warrior is at it again in the new “Kung Fu Panda 4” movie! In the newest installment, Po (played by Jack Black), sets sail across the sea to Juniper City to defeat the newest and most nefarious villain yet, the Chameleon. With help from Po’s new friend Zhen the Fox (played by Awkwafina), and familiarcharacters like Po’s dads and Master Shifu, the duo faces bandits, monsters, and everything in between.

Black History Month is an important time when we celebrate the achievements, lives, and cultures of African Americans. Black History Month evolved throughout the 1900s. Black History Month was originally started by Carter G. Woodson, “The Father of Black History,” who wanted a way to highlight the contributions that Black people brought to the American community.

 Doink! Everyone has heard that sound before and gone rushing to the nearest window only to find an injured bird lying on the ground outside of the glass. This is called a bird window strike. Sometimes the inside of your home looks like a warm haven to an unlucky bird, and sometimes their reflection looks like another bird and they try to attack it. Other times the surrounding environment reflects off of the glass, making it look like somewhere they can fly.

After being around for almost 50 years, Bookmans is a staple of Arizona. When you think about our humble state, you think of Bookmans. And between the huge array of items, helpful staff, and year-round events, it’s not hard to see why. That’s why it was an obvious decision to open a new location (4841 N. Stone) off Stone and River. The grand opening of the new Bookmans was Nov. 10, and it lived up to the word “grand.”
