Last fall, my family and I went to the 13th annual Tucson Comic-Con. There were many things to do. One we enjoyed most was the scavenger hunt. It took us all three days of the event to complete the task, but we did it by exploring Comic-Con, talking to people at the booths, participating in panel presentations, and talking to attendees, just like us.
The “mission,” for those attempting the scavenger hunt, was to “infiltrate” the event on a mission to take pictures and find others that were “agents” to help in the adventure. If you participated, you could earn prizes based upon the tier you reached and your score. Tier one started at 100 points, but to reach the top tier (tier 4) required 825 points.
To accomplish the daunting task of reaching the top tier, my sisters and I color-coordinate our scavenger hunt packet to help us map out the activities in each part of the Tucson Convention Center—this took some planning! Prizes included a ribbon for each tier, pins, gift certificates and memberships to attend the Tucson Comic-Con in 2023.
This years Tucson Comic-Con is Sept 1–3. If you plan to go, my advice is to have a plan for how to achieve your goals with the scavenger hunt! If you want to try to get all the badges I would start with the top story of the Tucson Convention Center and work your way downstairs.
The scavenger hunt took the majority of our time at Comic-Con, but it also helped us to experience everything prior to the conclusion of the hunt on Sunday!
Tucson Comic-Con happens at the Tucson Convention Center downtown. The TCC is located at 260 S. Church Ave. The Exhibit Hall hours are 3–8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
