Each contestant will compete by building and throwing their paper airplane. The farthest throw wins! The top three from each age group will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Each contestant in the individual competition can bring up to 4 guests for free. The Family Contest is full. Lunch is provided.

Age brackets: 

  • 6-8 years
  • 9-11 years
  • 12-14 years

Individual contestants will compete in the age bracket they fit in on the day of the competition April 12th. Registration required.

Tucson Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Renewal by Andersen, Arizona Daily Star, Best Life Presents, KXCI, Cloud Microphones, and Groundworks to host the third annual Battle of the Bands on Sunday, April 6. Bands with artists between the ages of 13-18 years old will compete for the grand prize. Grand prize winners will receive a full home recording package, including Ableton Suite and a Cloud Microphone, in addition to a show promoted by Best Life Presents, and an appearance on KXCI’s “Local’s Only” radio show.
