Join the museum on Second SundAZe in April and visit the newest exhibition, Time Traveler: Foundations, Transformations, and Expansions at the Centennial, that celebrates the museum’s 100th anniversary. The day will be filled with family Yoga, a performance by Arizona Women’s Chorus, Aprender y Jugar bilingual story time, and hands-on activities.

One of the community’s best free events for kids. Compete to throw the furthest paper airplane and win amazing prizes.

Each contestant will compete by building and throwing their paper airplane. The farthest throw wins! The top three from each age group will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Each contestant in the individual competition can bring up to 4 guests for free. Lunch is provided.

Join in a celebration for the love of elephants and in honor of Penzi the elephant’s fourth birthday. Watch Penzi and the herd receive some special enrichment treats and learn what it takes to care for these gentle giants during zookeeper presentations. You may catch a glimpse of Penzi’s new baby sister, too! Enjoy free cookies for the first 400 guests, courtesy of the Narcus Family Trust, music, games, elephant themed activities and more.

Mark your calendars for Día de la Niñez, a free community event hosted by Council Member Lane Santa Cruz to celebrate the cherished Mexican holiday Día del Niño. At Día de la Niñez there will be live music, games, face-painting, jumping castles, food, and more. The event will be held on Saturday, Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at El Pueblo Park,
