The 7th annual Lunar New Year Festival returns to The District Stage on Saturday, February 3 in celebration of the Year of the Wood Dragon.

Desert Ridge Marketplace continues its partnership with 9 Dragons Kung Fu to host an incredible morning filled with cultural performances, dramatic lion dances, tai chi demonstrations, art, and more. Panda Express will be joining the fun with swag and other delightful surprises!

Performances will be located at The District Stage between Dave & Buster’s and H&M.

The annual parade & community celebration attracts over 30,000 people and provides an opportunity to showcase the history, participating school groups, bands, live musical entertainment, and great shopping. Plan on being in old town Scottsdale all day with your friends to experience Arizona’s old west entertainment. Groups and bus tours are welcome and there is plenty of parking for large vehicles.

On a hot day in the desert, birds and other animals are scurrying around the desert looking for food. When they start to feel tired, they stop to rest in a giant cactus, which is their hotel in the desert.

In the book “Cactus Hotel” written by Brenda Z. Guiberson and illustrated by Megan Lloyd, when a bright red fruit falls off a tall saguaro cactus, it splits apart with 2,000 seeds glistening in the sun as it lays upon the sandy floor.
