There will be a Festival Kickoff Signature Event ideal for families on Saturday, February 3, from 2-4 p.m., at the Science Vortex in Cottonwood. There will be booths run by participating STEM organizations with hands-on activities for children of all ages, a Science is Fun presentation by Chief Science Officers, a planetarium provided by the Arizona Science Center, and the Science Vortex STEM Center will be open for play and exploration. This event is free!

Join the African American Advisory Committee of Tempe History Museum for a fun, interactive kids' day to celebrate Black History Month! This fun, free event is for the whole family.

It’s a puppy party at the store! Plus all ages of doggos that need lots of love. Every pet has something to offer. Come meet these fuzzy friends from Woofs, Wiggles, and Wags Rescue that are looking for a forever home. Perhaps you’re looking for a new best friend… Talk about a meet-cute! See who’d out there waiting for your love!

And don’t forget we’ve got a pet food drive happening in the store. Donations go to the rescue, and one donor will receive a special prize from Bookmans!

The Arizona Game and Fish Department invites anglers to fish Arizona waters for free Saturday, June 1. It’s an ideal time to take the family out for some fun and relaxing outdoor recreation. Arizona’s Free Fishing Day is celebrated as part of National Fishing and Boating Week. As an incentive, a fishing license is not required Saturday for persons fishing any public waters in Arizona.
